7 Days / 7 Cooking Methods
Monday
Barbeque
Start the week with a juicy barbecued meal. Cooking over direct flames reduces the fat, leaving behind minerals, nutrients and an amazing flavour.
Tuesday
Grill
Cooking on a griddle allows food to retain its nutrient value while essentially cooking away in its own fat!
Wednesday
Tandoori
(Clay Oven)
The SILK kitchen is equipped with a state of the art traditional clay oven (a tandoor) which gives the food a unique taste, is an oil and fat free cooking method, and locks in the flavour of the marination.
Thursday
Raw
Raw foods ensure a better supply of nutrients that may be lost when the food is cooked. The consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and legumes help improve blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and reduce risk of heart disease.
Friday
Stewing (Indian)
Stewing is a centuries old method of cooking. It allows dishes to cook in their own juices and spices and herbs such as turmeric, cumin seeds, cinnamon, and coriander, producing rich flavours. Stewing also conserve nutrients.
Saturday
Steam
Steaming is another method that doesn’t require oil or fat to cook, making the food very light. The food comes out moist, fresh and full of valuable nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
Sunday
Oven
Oven cooking causes the food to burn away its fat, while remaining juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It also allows food to cook more evenly.
